Project Team

The project coordinator, Dr. Golnessa Galyani-Moghaddam, is an assistant professor at the Department of Library and Information Science, Allameh Tabataba’i University (ATU), since 2013. She received a bachelor’s degree in Medical Sciences (Nursing) and subsequently a Master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, in 1999. She worked as a librarian at the Road, Housing & Urban Development Center in Tehran for two years. Later she received a grant from the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology to pursue a Ph.D. degree in India. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Mysore in 2007. She worked as a faculty member in the Department of Library and Information Science at Shahed University in Tehran from 2007 to 2012. She accepted a position at the Allameh Tabataba’i University in 2013 and has been working there since then. She has substantial experience in studying and researching public libraries in Iran.

Dr. Farideh Osareh is a full professor in library and information science at Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, Iran. She received a BA in English Language and Literature from the Jundi Shapur University of Ahvaz, Iran, in 1974 and an MS in Library and Information Science from the University of Tehran in 1986. In 1992 Farideh began pursuing a Ph.D. degree in LIS at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. She received her Ph.D. in 1997, after that she returned to Iran. For several years, she was the director of the LIS department at the Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, where she now teaches courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. She is an awarded leading professor in education in the country by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

Dr. Rahmatollah Fattahi is an Iranian scholar and full professor in library and information science (with expertise in Information and Knowledge organization) at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. He received a BA in English Language and Literature from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad 1974 and an MS in Library and Information Science from the University of Tehran in 1979. In 1992 he went to Australia to pursue a PhD in LIS at the University of New South Wales. He received his PhD in 1997, after which he returned to Iran. For several years, Rahmatollah served as department director at the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, where he has been teaching courses at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. He was one of the founders and the president of the Iranian Library and Information Science Association. He also has a rich experience in teaching workshops, holding conference, publishing, and doing research on public libraries in Iran.
